Without a doubt, the engagement of football legend Aaron Rodgers and his fiancé, actress Shailene Woodley, has become one of the brightest love stories in Hollywood. Recently, the couple opened up about what it was like finding romance during the pandemic and how they took a break from the news cycle after announcing their engagement!

These days, you are used to seeing celebrities but almost every moment of their lives on social media. From relationship news to what they had for dinner and everything in between, there’s very little privacy left in Hollywood. Well, actress Shailene Woodley and fiancé Aaron Rodgers want to change all that. It started when the couple decided not to share their engagement with the world initially. Instead, the actress and famed quarterback kept the news under wraps for months – that’s right!

“When we announced that we were engaged, we wanted to do that only because we didn’t want someone else to do it before we did,” Woodley explained to The Hollywood Reporter in a recent interview. “And we didn’t do it for months and months after we had become engaged.” However, their desire for privacy did not end there. The Big Little Lies star says she and Rodgers disconnected from the typical press circuit. “But the reaction to [the engagement] was really a lot, and so we were like, ‘Let’s just politely decline [to talk about the relationship] for a little while and live in our little bubble,'” Woodley continued.

Woodley also says that waiting to reveal the engagement news also helped them navigate the crazy fan response much better. “Yes, we are engaged. But for us, it’s not new news, you know, so it’s kind of funny. Everyone right now is freaking out over it and we’re like, ‘Yeah, we’ve been engaged for a while.’,” the actress said to late-night host Jimmy Fallon. However, don’t think that just because Rodgers and Woodley keep their relationship private that they aren’t head over heels for one another…

In a recent interview with Shape Magazine, Woodley stated that she believes that she and Rodgers were destined for one another. In fact, she got quite spiritual, saying it was nothing short of cosmic destiny. “I have the perspective that I would have met Aaron in any context, any space in time, because I feel we were meant to be together,” the actress said. “Starting a relationship where you immediately move in with someone — because it’s a pandemic and you can’t just get on a plane and go back and forth on weekends — taught us a lot about each other very quickly…We jumped in headfirst and got some of the sticky bits out of the way early.”

Rodgers said nearly the same, during an Instagram Live Question & Answer session with fans. “I’m recently engaged, so been enjoying that part of my life,” the quarterback said during the Q&A. “Obviously that’s the best thing that’s happened to me in the last year.”

When will Shailene Woodley and Aaron Rodgers tie the knot? Well, there’s not a date quite yet, but many around the world are waiting for what could soon become Hollywood’s most powerful celebrity couple! After all, once married, the two will have a combined net worth of $130 million!
