Well, it seems that Netflix just loves bringing old favorites back to us. After returning us to the ’80s with Stranger Things, the streaming giant will bring back one of the most prominent actresses of the ’90s. That’s right, Lindsay Lohan will return to the screen in a new Christmas rom-com from Netflix, alongside Glee‘s Chord Overstreet.

It’s officially time for the Lindsay Lohan comeback! The actress will star in a holiday romantic comedy film, alongside actor Chord Overstreet, that will premiere on Netflix sometime next year. The streaming giant first broke the news of the upcoming movie back in May with a tweet. “Lindsay Lohan will star in a new romantic comedy about a newly engaged and spoiled hotel heiress who finds herself in the care of a handsome, blue-collar lodge owner and his precocious daughter after getting total amnesia in a skiing accident,” Netflix’s tweet earlier this year read. Well, doesn’t that just sound romantic?
Now, Netflix has released the first image for the still-untitled film, seen above, giving fans a sneak-peek at Overstreet and Lohan walking in a snow-covered winter wonderland. “She’s back!” the streaming platform wrote alongside the picture. “Here is your first look at Lindsay Lohan in her upcoming holiday rom-com, co-starring Chord Overstreet.”
The streaming platform shared the first image of the untitled film on Friday, giving fans a look at Lohan and Overstreet in a snowy winter wonderland complete with lights and winter gear. “She’s back! Here is your first look at Lindsay Lohan in her upcoming holiday rom-com, co-starring Chord Overstreet,” Netflix tweeted.
Of course, this is just one portion of Lohan’s recent comeback…

While Lohan has starred in a few recent films, like Among the Shadows and The Canyons, she’s certainly taken a step back from her fame as a child star in movies like The Parent Trap, Freaky Friday, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, Herbie Fully Loaded, and Mean Girls, seen above. However, Lohan feels ready to jump back into the entertainment world. During CNN’s New Year’s Eve special two years ago, Lohan told hosts Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper that she’s ready to “come back to America and start filming again” and take “back the life that I worked so hard for, and sharing it with my family and you guys.”
And since then, Lohan has started a strong comeback! In 2019, the former child star earned her own reality show on MTV, Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club. As the name suggests, the series followed the actress as she created and opened a beach dance club in Greece. While the show was not a massive success – MTV canceled it after a single season – it kickstarted Lohan’s comeback. A few months later, in October, she reunited with the Mean Girls cast and crew to promote voting in the 2020 presidential election.
Now, she’s released a new single and will star in a 2021 Christmas movie on Netflix! It certainly seems like we’re on the verge of a massive Lohan comeback – and we can’t wait!
