Yes, believe it or not, but these Russian actors have gone down in history for filming the first-ever movie in space. What American actors were working on, Russian actors have done! There’s not much information on which project Tom Cruise was set to film in outer space but Russian actress Yulia Peresild and film director Klim Shipenkois have literally skyrocketed out to film the upcoming movie titled The Challenge.

The Russian state media was quick to document and broadcast this monumental achievement. It made for an enthusiastic and patriotic coverage alongside the time countdown as the world’s first-ever film team headed to space to make history – and one hell of a movie. Call it a glimpse of the Cold War, but the upcoming movie has given Russia the upper hand in the space race. NASA announced last year that American actor Tom Cruise was also in the works to fly into space to film an unnamed movie with the help of a SpaceX rocket.

More Than What Meets The Eye
What surprised the world was the fact that the Russian space industry wasn’t in the best of forms as it had a lot on its plate to deal with. From unforeseen accidents to corruption charges, things were not in Russia’s favor. On the other hand, the United States of America presents a completely opposite picture, with private firms being supported by billionaires like Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos, who have recently traveled into space as well.

Cold War Flashbacks
Many people might not understand the deep undertones behind this achievement but historians observe a glimpse of the Cold War that happened between the USA and the Soviet Union (modern-day Russia). It was Russia that initiated the space project by launching the first satellite and even beat the US by putting the first man and woman in space. The Kremlin spokesperson only fueled the speculation when Dmitry Peskov stated that space is where Russia became the pioneer and it will always lead the race in space. Peskov also went on to state that the competition between Russian and the US is all in good spirit and there are no ill intentions.
We don’t know about you but this film is definitely going to be out of this world and we absolutely cannot wait to watch it.
