The dynamic couple first met in 2000 but it wasn’t until 2004 that they took things to another level. De Rossi’s willingness to publicly come out as gay was inspired by their romance, which began after VH1’s Big in ’04 awards show. In August 2008, the couple got married, transcending barriers and demonstrating that love truly does conquer all.

Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka – 12 Years Together

Sometimes, we find love in the strangest places and this is true for Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka. The two happened to be on the same New York City street corner at the same time and Harris got struck by cupid. He was so sure of his feelings that he showed up at every place they met.

His diligence paid off and they ultimately moved in together. Harper proposed to his lover at the place where they first met and in October 2010, they had their surrogate children, Gideon and Harper. The couple legalized their union in September 2014, three years after the same-gender marriage bill was passed.

After spending more than 20 years together, Elton John and his husband David Furnish have served as the voice and face of same-gender marriage. They frequently walk the red carpet and proudly pose for photos while holding hands or having one arm around the other.

In 1993, John hosted a dinner at his house for the sole purpose of “meeting new people,” and that turned out to be a great decision because it was there that he met the love of his life. The pair were among the first couple to get married as soon as same-gender marriages were made legal in the United Kingdom.

Lance Bass of NSYNC came out as gay after the band split up in 2006. In September 2013, he first met Michael Turchin at a mutual friend’s party in Palm Springs. Although Turchin was first apprehensive about speaking with a famous singer, he quickly overcame that, and their connection forged a lasting bond that was solidified in 2014 at the Park Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles.

Bass and his husband shared the news of their surrogate twin pregnancy on Instagram on June 1st, 2021, which also happened to be the first day of Pride Month. Their adorable little bundles of joy arrived in November 2021.
