Facing Tough Reality

Without a doubt, being a teacher is hard. In addition to the chaotic schedule and bratty children, just like any job, there are occasionally problems with your salaries. At least, that’s the issues Bruno Rafael Paiva ran into. The middle school teacher from Brejo Santo, Brazil, has been teaching for a couple of years now. However, when he started a new class, everything started off fine. However, soon, Paiva found himself in a very stressful situation: two months went by, and he still hadn’t been paid!
In time, Paiva’s situation became so desperate that he didn’t even have his own home. In the end, the young teacher slept on his buddy’s couch for weeks. In time, Paiva had no means to pay for his home, food, or help his family members, who also struggled. Soon, the students of his class knew that they needed to do something…
Poorly-Behaved Class Helps Teacher

“Teacher life is not easy,” Paiva recently wrote on Facebook. “When I saw that I was not going to receive a month and a half’s salary, I saw everything going black. I sank into depression, worried and lost, without knowing how to pay the bills and help my family.” To make matters even worse, his newest class had quite poorly behaved over his hard two months. However, when they noticed Paiva’s levels of stress, they came together. Then, one day, they revealed their surprise to Paiva, as soon as he arrived at the classroom…
It all started when they pointed at one particular desk. As it turns out, they had each written an apology to the teacher for their bad behavior. A lovely video captured the teacher reading the text out loud, emotionally touched by the confessions. The students put the last note on Paiva’s own desk. Along with the final apology, they had left a box with a special gift inside. And when Paiva opened the box, he could not help but start crying!
Touching Surprise

Inside the gift box, the students had managed to collect roughly two-thirds of the teacher’s salary. As Paiva started to cry, the kids could no longer contain their excitement, swarming and hugging him altogether.
Later, the teacher explained while the class had been hard at the beginning, he had always known they had a sweet side. This gesture made him realize that anyone can change. “I have many rooms that I have loved in my heart as a teacher, but no room has ever shown such love, help and affection for my teacher’s work as the class did today,” he wrote on Facebook. “They are students, like me, who still believe in the education of the country; believe in the love of others; and in the compassion of putting oneself in the place of others.”
“My gratitude for every support, every message, every tear and faith in continuing to believe in education, in teacher and in love of neighbor is eternal!” Paiva finished by saying.
