Even the most successful stars understand the need for a side gig, something they can fall back on if they decide to retire from their careers or if they mysteriously lose their luster. One of the most common ventures celebrities have dipped their toes into is the beauty business.
There are many famous names that have tried their luck in this ever-expanding industry and more and more have proven just how lucrative this business can be. Here are some of them:
Fenty Beauty – Rihanna
Rihanna was first known as a singer but since she launched her cosmetics line Fenty Beauty, which is after her surname, she became a powerful force in the makeup industry. In fact, she hasn’t released new music in years because she is obviously focusing more on her business.

Her makeup line is one of the reasons she became one of the highest-earning female musicians. It seems that Fenty Beauty is here to stay as it often gets rave reviews for its inclusivity, thanks to its wide shade range.
Kylie Cosmetics – Kylie Jenner
Of course, everyone knows Kylie Jenner, the youngest of the reality family but is one of the richest in the clan. She was even once hailed as the youngest self-made billionaire, which is largely because of her eponymous cosmetics brand.
Kylie Cosmetics started selling lip kits and the founder made sure she capitalized on her asset: lips. Since then, her offerings have expanded to other types of makeup, including eyeshadow and foundation.
Flower Beauty – Drew Barrymore
While staying busy with her projects, Drew Barrymore also has her hands full with Flower Beauty, a cosmetics brand that she founded in 2013. Apparently, she had found interest in cosmetics after being in the makeup chair since she was 6.

More impressively, her cruelty-free line is wide-ranging: it has mascara, blush, eyeshadow, as well as blenders, brushes, and makeup bags.
KKW Beauty – Kim Kardashian West
Perhaps after seeing how much money her sister made out of the makeup industry, Kim Kardashian West also started her own company called KKW Beauty, the initials of her name. Her line pretty much is the same with her sister’s but they never showed competitiveness toward each other – in fact, they even do collaborations.
Rare Beauty – Selena Gomez
Rihanna isn’t the only artist to start a makeup business. Selena Gomez announced her lineup called Rare Beauty, whose products fans have yet to see.

Products will hit Sephora stores in September. Despite the prolonged release, its Instagram account already has a whopping 1 million followers, who are probably eager to catch a glimpse of the items.
