Love them or hate them, the Kardashian-Jenner girls have good taste when it comes to everything lifestyle and fashion. Proof of this is supermodel Kendall Jenner’s bohemian Los Angeles home.
The 24-year-old reality star recently opened her doors to show off the fruit of her and design duo Kathleen and Tommy Clements’ labor. Check out the results of the makeover.
A House with Character
As Jenner shared with Architectural Digest magazine, she’s drawn to a house with character and that’s ultimately how she ended up picking her home. She described her place as having both a Spanish and farmhouse vibe, which fits the serene aura that she wanted.
The model began her makeover with some structural changes including the repurposing of two bedrooms, which she has turned into a fitting room and a glam room. She also had the living room transformed into a cozy and warm space where she can let loose and entertain guests.
Her entertaining program also shows in her Mediterranean-style kitchen. Jenner shared that her new home prompted her to spend more time in the kitchen and she’s become a ‘pretty good cook’.
Art on Display
The generally subdued palette of the interiors is contrasted by her collection of bold contemporary art. Displayed throughout the home are works by artists like Sterling Ruby, Richard Prince, and Barbara Kruger.
Jenner also shared that she’s become a big fan of James Turrell after she was introduced to his work by her brother-in-law Kanye West. However, the model admitted that she’s still pretty new to contemporary art appreciation.
Another notable design element Jenner and her team followed is the mixing and matching of modern art pieces to older ones. Case in point is the Tracey Emin neon sculpture in her bedroom paired with a set of 18th-century Italian painted door panels.
Somewhere to Relax
Literally growing up in the spotlight, Jenner has openly spoken about her struggles with both anxiety and panic attacks. Thus, it was important that her home become a refuge for her as she takes a break from her fast-paced career as a model and public figure.
She installed an arts and crafts room in the home theater exactly for that purpose.
In the end, Jenner said that she feels really proud of what she’s accomplished with her home. She shared that this was the first house she’s ever done completely and turned into something that reflects who she is as a person.
