It’s been a good year for podcast king Joe Rogan. After inking a lucrative deal with Spotify, the host has now bought himself a $14.4 million mansion in Austin, Texas.
Making the Move
Rogan, who has been mulling over moving his family to the Southern state for years now, finally made the big move and announced the surprise decision to his followers a month ago.
He scored his new residence in an off-market deal that marked one of the biggest transactions recorded in the area’s history. Proving the saying ‘everything’s bigger in Texas’ true, Rogan’s new home on Lake Austin spans 10,890 square feet and has eight bedrooms.
Safe to say, it has plenty of room to accommodate the 53-year-old comedian, his wife Jessica Ditzel, and their two daughters. Their new home is reportedly located near the homes of other bigshots like billionaire John Paul DeJoria and actress Sandra Bullock.
The home appears to be Rogan’s first big-ticket purchase since signing a $100 million deal with Spotify that saw his popular podcast ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’ hosted exclusively on the streaming service.
Newly Made over
The residence, which originally featured a faux-Mediterranean style, was extensively made over by its former owners.
Architectural designer Benjamin Wood, together with his philanthropist wife, turned the place into a sleeker and more Texas-inspired farmhouse with a modern look. However, some of that early-2000s Mediterranean flare still shines through in some aspects.
The property is sequestered from the road giving its new residents privacy and security. Even better, it comes with a carriage house and two garages so Rogan definitely has plenty of space to keep his car collection and aquatic toys.
Sprawling Estate
With four acres all to themselves, the podcaster’s kids have a ton of area to run and explore the tree-dotted grounds.
The home’s backyard is also site to a large saltwater pool as well as a covered patio and a party deck where the couple can lounge or entertain guests away from the glaring Texan sun.
All that said, the family’s new mansion is certainly an upgrade from the $5 million home they lived in while they were still based in Los Angeles. It’s unclear whether Rogan has kept the Bell Canyon home after the move.
What’s sure though is that he still owns a $2.2 million starter home in the same area, which is actually just walking distance away from his former family home.
