YouTube can make millionaires out of its stars. But what seems to pay significantly more these days is creating a makeup line. Internet star and business mogul Jeffree Star is certainly proof of this.
Using his online platform to promote Jeffree Star Cosmetics, the 34-year-old YouTuber has turned his brand into a $200 million empire for himself. And he has no problem enjoying the fruits of his own labor.
Just check out the former mansion he lived in which he aptly called the ‘Barbie dream house’.

The Calabasas, California residence is currently listed on the market for $3.6 million. Spanning 6,785 square feet, Star’s former abode perfectly shows off his flashy personality.
For starters, the home’s interiors are washed with the Internet celebrity’s signature hot pink color. His famous ‘vault’ also features the same eye-catching color.
The home has six bedrooms and seven bathrooms. It formerly housed Star and his ex-partner Nate Schwandt along with their six pomeranian pups.
Mansion Upgrade
So, why did Star put his beloved mansion up for sale?
Well, that’s because he has moved on to an even grander mansion, this time in Hidden Hills. His new digs reportedly cost a whopping $14.6 million.
Star has also come up with a name for his mansion upgrade: ‘the dream home castle’. And looking at photos of the 25,000-square-foot compound, the name certainly fits.
Aside from the palatial main home, the property also comes with two attached guesthouses and a 4,700-square-foot garage that houses Star’s impressive collection of luxury vehicles.
Speaking in a video, Star shared just how far he has come. Prior to launching his now successful cosmetics brand, he only had $500 to his name.
Now, Jeffree Star Cosmetics is among the top makeup brands in the United States.
Controversial Past
However, his spot at the top is currently under threat. Star has a rather controversial past and it has recently been unearthed again amidst an ongoing controversy in the online beauty community.
The YouTuber is facing criticism from many netizens because of his alleged involvement in the takedown of another popular beauty guru, James Charles. He is being accused of orchestrating a hit piece on the now-21-year-old Internet celebrity.
Alongside this, people are calling for the boycott of his brand because of his racist past. There are videos of Star saying racial slurs and threatening Black women.
