Getting older certainly comes with its pros and cons. One thing’s for sure, staying active only becomes harder and harder with age. Well, journalist and television host Katie Couric recently proved it’s certainly possible. She recently showed off her exceptional skills – this time with a headstand!
Katie Couric’s New Challenge
It’s incredibly important to keep active as you grow older. As the years go by, working out will help prevent joints and muscles from losing their mobility. Recently, news star Katie Couric showed just how far one can take things! At 64-years-old, she loves to post her workouts and skills to Instagram, showing off just how incredible she is. Most recently, Couric posted a picture to her Instagram of herself doing an incredible handstand in an electric blue Alo Yoga outfit. Believe it or not, she says it’s actually a regular part of her yoga and Pilates routine! “Yes. This is me. #takethat64 #alo #pilatescooldown #sendmeyourheadstands #simonebiles,” the sporty star captioned the Instagram photo, clearly proud of herself.
In the background of the photo, Couric also tagged her Pilates instructor, Ashley Patten. The two have been working together for some time. In fact, it is not even the first time Couric has posted bout her Pilates instructor. Earlier this year, in April, the journalist already thanked her coach for “rediscovering her waist” as she posed in front of a mirror, flexing. And it seems that Couric is quite the student!
Feel Better Mindset
In February 2021, on her official website, Couric interviewed Patten. They said that the Pilates had helped both of them through the pandemic. “You’re a natural! You’ve been so consistent and hard working. Every week we get more in and make things more challenging,” Patten said about Couric. During the pandemic, the TV host also changed her approach to food. After trying the keto diet, which involves minimizing carbs and focusing on fats, Couric realized it’s not for her.
Recently, Couric has been favoring the pegan diet, which is a mix of the paleo and vegan diets. So far, it’s been working for her needs. It certainly helped with stress eating during the lockdowns! “It’s been very stressful, so people who are stress eaters have more stress and are responding by eating more,” she shared on IGTV in late February with Eating Well. “I have a sweet tooth and have been eating way too many sweets. I just want a reset and I want to feel better and have more energy.”
We wish Couric all the best with her help goals – though it seems she doesn’t need the well wishes!
