The Covid-19 pandemic forced us all to panic and with the end nowhere in sight, we ultimately became paranoid. This paranoia is the reason the tissue rolls have vanished from grocery aisles, canned goods have been out of stock, and alcohol and sanitizers have been in demand.
For ordinary citizens and those who already found it hard to make ends meet prior to the pandemic, this deadly coronavirus has become a painful reminder of how hard life is. Hoarding may be the quick solution by some people but not all can afford to stock up on the necessary things.

On the contrary, the affluent have all the means to make sure they are safe. While the average person only holed up inside their houses, the wealthy began fleeing populated cities and headed to secluded spots for less chance of contracting the virus.
Fleeing Major Cities
According to a recent report, rich people have been ditching major cities and going to less densely populated places. But that’s not the only thing luxurious about it because, let’s face it, the wealthy ones tend to go over-the-top since they have the money.
To escape the threat of the coronavirus, the affluent are renting out hotel rooms, resort suits, and inn lodgings. But the most elite of them have been taking things up a notch by reserving entire properties – and you’ll be surprised to know how much they are willing to shell out for that.
Cost of Buying Out Properties
In the Berkshires, a very opulent and glamorous country house hotel, Blantyre Country Resort, has opened its doors for guests willing to reserve the property for a whopping $38,000 per day. This resort typically opens in May but with the lockdown measures in place to combat the spread of the coronavirus, it had remained closed to its patrons.

Its general manager, Stephen Benson, revealed that they had been receiving calls from their loyal customers, asking if the hotel would want to consider a buyout. Of course, this increase in demand shows just how much people are willing to keep them and their families safe from the chaos happening in most parts of the world.
Stark Contrast

A month of stay in the abovementioned hotel can cost a person at least $1,140,000. The mere fact that there are people who are willing to spend thousands of dollars to buy out an accommodation would show the stark contrast between them and those who can’t even let go of their jobs despite the dangers of going back to work.
However, many rich people have been dubbed ‘super spreaders’ because they usually come from Covid-19 hotspots and somehow are bringing the coronavirus to rural areas. Then, they can disrupt the local life and there have been reports of food shortage in the suburbs.
